31 December 2018.

E.N.T.er the dragon.

OK kids, I've been diagnosed with cancer at the base of the tongue in my throat. Not a good thing, but every medico I've spoken to has been extremely positive and told me it is totally curable with treatment.

I'm not shopping for sympathy, but I'm not much of a talker about private stuff (much to Suzanne's dismay) so I'm writing this the keep family and friends up to date, and save you all a bunch of phone calls and emails. Maybe this will also help out someone who might go through the same thing somewhere down the track. It's always good to get the story from the horse's mouth, even if his tongue is a bit munted. 😃

Life got pretty hectic. We have been running around helping out Suzanne's Dad Clive, running him around to Doctor's appointments and hospitals for treatment. At the same time we were trying to unpack two containers and settle into our new home in Cockatoo. Sadly we lost Clive just before Christmas to the Leukaemia he'd been battling for most of the year. That knocked this family around in a huge way.

As a result my visit to the good old Doctor was delayed a little. She happily announced that my lungs were clear, and in very good condition (Don't smoke kids) so she referred me to an Ear Nose Throat specialist to investigate further.
